Lazy cakes are the easiest dessert to prepare. They don’t take much time nor many ingredients to be made!
Fun fact: lazy cakes and chocolate balls (or Boules au Chocolat) have the same recipe but their shapes differ from one another.
The usual ingredients that I use are:
- Nestlé condensed milk (150 mg or 300 mg – depends on how many people to serve)
- 3 to 4 packs of biscuits
- 3/4 cup of cocoa powder – sometimes more. I decide on the spot.
- Coconut sprinkles (that one can be extracted)
However, I had no condensed milk so I googled its substitute.
8broads.com suggested that you need the below to make – kind of – a condensed milk:
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
I tried it and it worked! It gave me such a close feel to the condensed milk!
After being done with my homemade condensed milk, I crushed the biscuits then added the milk on top of them.
Then I mixed them and spread them in a Pyrex pan.
Final feedback: it’s best to have Nestlé condensed milk because believe it or not, the homemade one was way too sweet. But I’m happy with the result!
Bon appétit! ♥
